The Jewish Museum Hohenems, located in the former Heimann-Rosenthal Villa, commemorates the rural Jewish community of Hohenems and its contributions to the development of Vorarlberg and surrounding regions. A regional museum with international appeal, the museum documents the history of the local Jewish community, which existed for around three centuries until the Second World War. Parallel to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions deal with the current situation in Europe and Israel as well as wider European immigration. In addition to the permanent and temporary exhibitions, there’s also a varied cultural programme of readings, film screenings, concerts and guided tours on offer throughout the year.
