The largest waterfall in Europe, the Rhine Falls offer visitors a truly magnificent spectacle. Over a width of 150 metres and a height of 23 metres, 700 cubic metres of concentrated water per second plunge over the rocks here. The basin of the Rhine Falls is a prime spot to experience this force of nature and natural spectacle first-hand. On its way from Lake Constance to Switzerland, or more precisely to Basel, the High Rhine meets several layers of robust rock, which over the aeons caused the riverbed to narrow and the famous Rhine Falls to be created. Whether from a boat on the water or from the mainland, a variety of guided tours are available for groups.
