Angelika Kauffmann was a sophisticated artist of international renown and a pioneer of her time. Her home village of Schwarzenberg boasts not only the Angelika Kauffmann Hall and a baroque parish church but also a museum dedicated to the life and works of its most famous daughter. In 2007, a modern exhibition space was inaugurated in part of the historic Bregenz Forest house to commemorate 200 years since the death of the artist’s death. Located in a quaint building dating back to the 19th century, the museum is a favourite for group excursions and art enthusiasts alike.
